On April 17, 2010, we celebrated the 40th Anniversary of Earth Day and John Muir’s 172nd birthday at the John Muir Historic Site in Martinez, CA. The annual celebration is presented by the John Muir Association and the National Park Service. 511 Contra Costa’s children’s book (also viewable online) titled: Why Don’t Hydrogen Cars Fly Away was a big hit, as was the physical version of our online 31-Day Activity Wheel. 511CC’s ‘Take a Green Ride’ canvas market bags were also popular giveaways.
