Contra Costa County is home to approximately 20 plug-in electric vehicle charging stations. Most stations are available to the public, but some are for shared-use electric cars and fleet/maintenance electric cars. Some charging stations are free to charge, and some are fee-based. Stations are currently operational at the following Contra Costa locations:
- Martinez – 3 unrestricted: 1 City Hall, 1 Amtrak Station, 1 Court St/Main St
- Pittsburg – 3 unrestricted: 2 City Hall, 1 Railroad Ave in Old Town
- Pleasant Hill – 2 unrestricted: City Hall and Crescent Dr Parking Structure
- Richmond – 1 restricted to SunPower
- Walnut Creek – 3: on each in city owned garages
- Walnut Creek – 2: for Contra Costa Centre Assocation car-share cars
- Walnut Creek – 2 unrestricted at Varian 2700 Mitchell Drive
