AC Transit is spreading holiday cheer by giving away FREE RIDES all of December to riders of the “holiday bus,” a mystery bus rotated around the lines to serve a different route every day. The bus is decorated, fare box is covered, and passengers are given a smile and a wave as they board the bus, feeling a little bit brighter than how they started out the day.
The holiday bus operates through Dec. 31 in the Alameda and Contra Costa counties.
“A free bus ride might be a small thing,” said Mary King, the interim AC Transit general manager, “but it is a way to show that we care about our passengers and the communities we serve. And maybe—hopefully—it will bring smiles at a time when smiles are badly needed, making this season a little bit brighter for all of us.”
