After some debate, the BART board of directors decided to change the name of the Pleasant Hill station to Pleasant Hill/Contra Costa Centre. Members of the Contra Costa County Redevelopment Agency, Contra Costa Centre, and the Walden District Improvement Association requested the switch in name, claiming that they have “created a community; a community of residents and property owners [that] have embraced the name of Contra Costa Centre.”

The Contra Costa County Redevelopment Agency and developer AvalonBay Communities will pay for changes to maps, train schedules, station signs, brochures, and BART’s website. To read more, visit the Contra Costa Times’ website.

One Response to “Pleasant Hill BART Station will Undergo Name Change”

  1. It seems kind of like a waste of money to have to pay to have all of the signs and paperwork changed when it will still say Pleasant Hill…
