What is SchoolPool?

SchoolPool is an established school access program which offers free, introductory transit tickets for 6-12 grade students to encourage the use of buses to commute to and from school.  The program application period runs from August – September each year.  The SchoolPool Program reduces traffic congestion and air pollution in the community by reducing the number of trips made by parents driving their students to school.

Central/East Contra Costa County
The Central/East Contra County SchoolPool Program provides a free County Connection or Tri-Delta Transit public transit ticket to each student while the program is active.  If your student attends school in the communities of Antioch, Brentwood, Clayton, Concord, Martinez, Oakley, Pittsburg, Pleasant Hill, Walnut Creek and unincorporated areas of Central and East Contra Costa County please continue reading for more information. 

Southwest Contra Costa County
If your student attends school in the communities of Alamo, Lafayette, Moraga, Orinda, and San Ramon please call 925-973-2655 for information.

West Contra Costa County
If your student attends school in the communities of Crockett, El Cerrito, El Sobrante, Hercules, Kensington, Pinole, Richmond, Rodeo, and San Pablo please call 510-215-3217 for information.

Is SchoolPool for My Student?

Eligibility Requirements:

  • The SchoolPool Program is offered to 6-12 grade students in Antioch, Brentwood, Clayton, Concord, Martinez, Oakley, Pittsburg, Pleasant Hill, Walnut Creek and unincorporated areas of Central and East Contra Costa County.
  • Parent/Guardians must fill out an application and pledge to have their student take the bus for his/her school commute instead of driving student to and from school.
  • Parent/Guardians must agree to complete a follow-up survey to determine the effectiveness of the SchoolPool Program.

Program Rules:

  • County Connection and/or Tri-Delta Transit tickets are available for up to two (2) students per household on a first-come, first-served basis while tickets last.  This is a one-time offer.
  • Transit tickets will be mailed directly to students at the home address listed on the application.
  • Falsifying any information on the application will disqualify you from the SchoolPool Program.
  • SchoolPool and 511 Contra Costa reserve the right to make any changes to the program eligibility requirements and program rules at any time without prior notification.

How Do I Apply for SchoolPool?
