Street Smarts Diablo Region School Programs
511 Contra Costa (Central/East County Program) received a Federal Safe Routes to School grant to fund the Street Smarts Diablo program. Street Smarts Diablo is a bicycle and pedestrian safety program available to all public schools in Central and East Contra Costa County: Antioch, Brentwood, Clayton, Concord, Martinez, Oakley, Pittsburg, Pleasant Hill, Walnut Creek and unincorporated areas of the county. Street Smarts Diablo delivers bicycle/pedestrian safety programs at no cost to every public school located in the communities listed above.

Deer Valley High School Students Make CHP Driver Safety Video
Students from Deer Valley High School’s Television Class produced a three-minute video on driver safety and awareness. Streets Smarts Diablo Region and the CHP partnered with Deer Valley High in Antioch to unveil the video. The Contra Costa Times covered the unveiling and wrote an article about it.
Antioch High School Cycling Festival
On October 23, Street Smarts Diablo teamed up with the Antioch Bike Club to host Ride On!!, a free festival to celebrate cycling and promote bike safety. The event was a huge success and received coverage from the Contra Costa Times and the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC).
