Bike the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge

In November 2019, a multi-use path was built on the upper deck of the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge, allowing people to walk or bike across it for the first time in its 63-year history. Since then more than 130,000 people have ridden across it, making it the 3nd busiest bridge for bikes in the Bay Area.

Bike the Bridge is a promotion to encourage more people to experience the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge during Bike Month, which starts on May 1st! Participants who scan QR codes located at both sides of the bridge will receive a $5 Amazon gift card and be entered to win a dinner for two at Anaviv’s Table in Richmond or a tandem bicycle. Scan both the Richmond and Marin side a total of five times during commute hours and you’ll automatically receive an additional $20 gift card.

Look for the banners on the bicycle and pedestrian approaches on both ends of the bridge.
