Here’s what you need to know to use them: All drivers will need a FasTrak® or FasTrak® Flex toll tag and valid FasTrak account to use the lanes. The Express Lanes will be toll-free for carpools, vanpools, eligible clean-air vehicles, buses and motorcycles with a FasTrak Flex toll tag. Seniors and disabled persons in the Livermore area who are interested in transportation services or a free Senior Clipper Card, and instruction on how to use it, are invited to attend an event on Tuesday, April 28 in Livermore. Free Senior Clipper Cards will be issued at the event, and attendees will receive instruction on how to use the cards on buses and trains. In addition, BART, Wheels bus (LAVTA) and Community Resources for Independent Living (CRIL) will be present to explain discounts available with Senior Clipper Cards and give information on transportation services that exist for seniors and the disabled.... Forty years ago BART changed the way people travel throughout the Bay Area and the system continues to grow, building on its four decades of success. BART is currently in the process of preparing a Draft Environmental Impact Review (DEIR) for a 4.8 mile system extension into Livermore that would run along I-580. Livermore Amador Valley Transit Authority (LAVTA) retrofitted buses to accommodate specific stroller parking areas. The change is met with relief to all passengers, with or without small children in strollers. For non-retrofitted buses strollers are required to be folded before boarding and then stowed out of the aisles once on board. This is often impractical and difficult given people traveling with children often have not only a stroller, but also bags of personal belongings.... Read the rest

September 20 to October 1, 2010, 511 Contra Costa and the Livermore Amador Valley Transit Authority will offer free rides on LAVTA’s Route 70X for riders who commute on Interstate 680 between the Tri-Valley, Walnut Creek and Pleasant Hill. On Thursday, April 15 2010, the Alameda County Transportation Improvement Authority is sponsoring a two hour meeting from 6:30 – 8:30 PM at Dublin City Hall, 100 Civic Plaza.
