Take the East Bay Regional Parks Challenge

Want to explore the East Bay Regional Parks system and pick up a free organic t-shirt in the process?
Take the East Bay Regional Parks’ Trail Challenge!
Last year, 9,000 people traveled the parks of Alameda and Contra Costa Counties through the Trails Challenge.
How does the challenge work?  Register on the site and download your booklet. The booklet includes maps with detailed directions, special interest highlights, safety information, guided hikes & events, and more. Among the trails in the booklet, complete

  1. Five out of twenty trails, or
  2. Any 26.2 miles of trails.

Fill out your trail log online to receive a commemorative pin and free organic t-shirt.
This year’s theme – “Picturesque Parks” – ushers in a new way to share your experiences with the East Bay Regional Parks District. Post your pictures on Flickr, and the Parks District will use your pictures to help future parks users. You can also become a fan of the Parks District on Facebook.
Also, look for the Trails Challenge mobile app later this spring. The app will allow Trails Challenge 2011 participants to download trail information straight to their iPhones, keep track of what trails they have completed, earn virtual rewards, and share information about their trail experiences with others.
