Free Transit Services

County Connection offers free rides in two different areas: Walnut Creek and the Monument Corridor—which includes Walnut Creek, Pleasant Hill, and Concord BART stations.

Walnut Creek

Getting around Walnut Creek is free and easy when you use the Downtown Trolley and Route 5 Shuttle! Both services are free—just hop on and enjoy the ride.

Route 4 – Downtown Trolley

The Downtown Trolley runs seven days a week and makes a loop through Downtown. It runs every 12 minutes on weekdays and every 20 minutes on weekends. Stops include:

  • The Broadway Plaza
  • Main Street Plaza
  • The Lesher Center for the Arts
  • City Hall
  • The Senior Center

Route 5 – Creekside / BART Walnut Creek Free Shuttle

The Route 5 Shuttle runs between Walnut Creek BART and Creekside Drive (via S California Blvd and S Main St) every weekday from 6am to 7pm. It runs every 20 minutes during peak hours and every 45 minutes during off-peak hours.

Route 7 – Shadelands / Pleasant Hill BART

The Route 7 Shuttle runs between Mitchell Park & Ride and Pleasant Hill BART every weekday from 6:30am-10:30am and 3pm-7:45pm. It runs every 20 minutes during peak hours.

Alamo Creek Shuttle

The Alamo Creek Shuttle is a free service to anyone traveling to and from the Alamo Creek, Monterosso, and Ponderosa Colony housing developments. It runs every 90 minutes on weekdays from 6am-10am and 3pm-6:30pm. The Alamo Creek Shuttle serves the Danville Park & Ride and Walnut Creek BART, and may stop at other locations with the 1.5 mile corridor along Camino Tassajara and I-680. The shuttle will pick you up at your door.  Call 925-943-1829 for reservations. Advance reservations can be made 7 days a week.

Monument Corridor

County Connection offers free rides on three of its weekday bus routes – Routes 11, 14, and 16 All three routes serve the Monument Corridor in Concord and connect from Concord BART to various destinations in Martinez, Pleasant Hill, and Walnut Creek, including BART stations, Martinez Amtrak and Contra Costa Regional Medical Center.

Route 11 – Concord BART / Pleasant Hill BART

The Route 11 Shuttle runs between Pleasant Hill BART and Concord BART every weekday from 6am to 8pm. It runs every 45 minutes during peak hours and every 90 minutes during off-peak hours. Stops include:

  • Concord BART
  • Oak Grove Rd
  • Treat Blvd
  • Pleasant Hill BART

Route 14 – Monument Blvd (Concord BART / Walnut Creek BART)

The Route 14 Shuttle runs between Concord BART and Walnut Creek BART every weekday from 5:30am to 9:30pm, with departures every 30 minutes. Stops include:

  • Concord BART
  • Monument Blvd
  • Pleasant Hill BART
  • Walnut Creek BART

Route 16 – Martinez Amtrak / Concord BART

The Route 16 Shuttle runs between Concord BART and Martinez Amtrak every weekday from 5:30am to 10pm, with departures every 40 minutes. Stops include:

  • Concord BART
  • Monument Blvd
  • Gregory Ln
  • Alhambra Ave
  • Contra Costa Regional Medical Center
  • Martinez Amtrak

Route 99X – Martinez Amtrak / North Concord BART

The Route 99X runs between Martinez Amtrak and North Concord BART every 20-40 minutes (during peak hours only). Stops include:

  • North Concord/Martinez BART
  • Arnold Industrial Way
  • Morello Avenue
  • Pacheco Boulevard
  • Martinez Amtrak
