Safe Biking in Traffic
Our second one-hour Bike Safety Class was offered in January 2022 and took a deeper dive into the nitty-gritty of navigating street traffic on a bicycle.
Topics included how to communicate with drivers, proper lane positioning, and understanding bike-related road markings such as bike boxes, green merge lines, and others. It also shared how to merge with vehicle traffic, how and when to “take the lane,” common errors inexperienced cyclists make when riding in traffic, and driver behaviors that cyclists should anticipate.
