International Walk to School Day 2011

International Walk to School Day usually held on the first s Wednesday in October. The event is aimed at bringing forth permanent change to encourage more walkable communities. By encouraging students to walk to school, schools and parents can promote student health and help decrease traffic congestion resulting in safer streets.
