Motorists are being advised to expect delays on a major downtown Concord thoroughfare starting today as crews work to upgrade a sewer line in the area. The roadwork will take place on Willow Pass Road between Mira Vista Terrace and Galindo Street from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. The target completion date is August 29, 2014.
Willow Pass Road will be open but traffic will likely be slow in the area due to lane closures. The City is in the process of replacing the sewer lines in the downtown area. Many of the lines are clay pipe from the ’40s and ’50s, and are undersized or failing. The project is being funded through the City’s Sewer Enterprise Fund.
