Where could you afford to live within a 30 minute commute of your workplace?
One Bay Area assembled this new tool for you to explore. You tell the tool:
- An average home prices
- What mode you want (bike, walk, carpool, transit, drive alone)
- How long you want to commute
For example, let’s say you work in the Pinole Point Business Park. You’re willing to spend between $250,000 and $500,000, and you want to be able to bike to your office within 30 minutes.
The map to the right shows all the residential areas that meet these criteria. Lead your mouse over the map to see the commute length in minutes and the average home value at the site.
The One Bay Area planning effort is underway, conducting a series of comprehensive public workshops and draft a coordinated regional plan. This feedback will inform an unprecedented level of regional planning – guiding the cities to operate the type of transportation systems and zoning that citizens want.
As they move forward, One Bay Area will periodically release information like this map that answers the sorts of questions that arise from public participants.
