Bay Bridge Closed

Update: Check out our updated Bay Bridge info page for updated info.
Update: A few pieces of the Bay Bridge snapped and fell onto the upper deck of the Eastern span of the Bay Bridge. As a result, the Bay Bridge is closed indefinitely:
BART will operate longer trains during normal hours this evening and staff additional drivers on Wednesday as needed.
Capitol Corridor is canceling all connecting busses to San Francisco and suggests using BART to reach San Francisco. Riders can change to BART at Richmond Station.
AC Transit – “For the morning, weekday commute (until the bridge reopens), AC Transit will run regular service; however, buses will detour to four East Bay BART stations — as they did during the Labor Day bridge closure — so that passengers can continue to downtown San Francisco on BART. ”

  1. Okay not that calling in sick when you aren't is good idea, but the traffic woes tomorrow could make you sick. Work from home tomorrow if you can, but if you must travel across the bay…get an early start and ride BART and call a co-worker to pick you up on the other side. BART is going to put all of its available rolling stock on the rails…let's go BART!
