Meet SolTrans, the Bay Area's newest public transit agency

Short for Solano County Transit, SolTrans is the Bay Area’s newest public transit agency. It merges Vallejo Transit and Benicia Breeze services and began operations July 1, 2011. The combined systems will initially carry 1.5 million riders annually.
SolTrans is housed in the newly built Vallejo Transit Center in downtown Vallejo.

SolTrans was formed in November 2010 to build a unified public transit system in southern Solano County. The consolidation will save over $1 million in the first year alone, according to SolTrans’ Interim Executive Director Jim McElroy.
Have you taken a ride on SolTrans yet? We’re curious what your thoughts are on the new system.
